The Author
LaTrenia Marie DeConge was born in Berkeley, CA in 1979. She is the middle child of three girls raised in Newark, CA by her mother and stepfather. As a child and teenager she spent a lot of time in Baton Rouge, La with her aunt and uncles.
As an adult she moved back for two years to overcome writers block to work on "Move".
LaTrenia has dreamed and visioned becoming a writer after she won first place in a 3rd grade school district young authors contest. She always wrote poetry as a young adult and often preformed at open mic night. A couple of times in Oakland, CA at Java House in the Lakeshore district that was owned D'Wayne Wiggens former member of Tony! Toni! Tone`and wife Michelle.
LaTrenia was inspired to write Move after watching, also reading the book Queen sugar written by Natalie Baszile that appeared on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network in 2016.
Move has been six year in the making the last two years in publishing stages. LaTrenia wanted to give her readers a common story that is not being told. She raises mental health issues, rape, alcohol disease as well as prescription drug addiction. LaTrenia is supported by numerous family members along with friends. She is a believer that dreams come true with hard work and dedication!
